The tune, &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/OscWhvIycqI\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Odds of the Blues<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">,&#8221; will be featured on Ely&#8217;s new album, <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">Driven To Drive<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">,\u00a0due out\u00a0August 2.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI got the idea for the song from hanging out at an all night after hours joint on the edge of east Lubbock called TV&#8217;s\u2026 there was always a dice game in the back room, the pool table had a bad lean, and the jukebox mainly played old blues songs,\u201d Ely shares. \u201cI asked Bruce recently if he would like to sing with me on this song and he said he\u2019d love to.\u201d He noted they&#8217;ve been \u201clong lost friends for a long time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">You can listen to &#8220;Odds of the Blues&#8221; now via <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/orcd.co\/oddsoftheblues\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>digital outlets<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">This isn\u2019t the first time Springsteen and Ely have worked together. Bruce previously appeared\u00a0on songs on Ely\u2019s 1995 album,\u00a0<\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">Letter To Laredo<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">, including the tune \u201cAll Just to Get to You.\u201d They&#8217;ve also performed together over the years, with Ely recalling one memorable performance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cOne of my memories of us singing together was in Dublin, Ireland when we both got on stage with <strong>Jerry Lee Lewis<\/strong> and <strong>Shane MacGowan<\/strong> and sang \u2018Great Balls of Fire,'&#8221; he shared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">Driven to Drive<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\"> is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/orcd.co\/driventodrive\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>available for preorder<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> now.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"raw-html-embed\"><iframe width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OscWhvIycqI\" title=\"Joe Ely - Odds of the Blues (Official Music Video) ft.
