Lenny Kravitz <\/strong>is back with a brand new album, <\/span>Blue Electric Light<\/span><\/em>, dropping Friday, and he tells ABC Audio that the songs on\u00a0the record came to him “organically.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI’m always inspired, it’s just a matter of what is it going to be,\u201d he says. \u201cI don’t have any preconceived ideas when I start working on a new phase of music.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Although some artists may head into the studio with a specific vision, that\u2019s not how Lenny works \u2014 instead he just waits for the music to come to him.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s just a big mystery. So, until it’s finished, I have no idea what’s going on,\u201d he says. \u201cI’m just channeling what I’m receiving. I’m just an antenna.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

So, what kind of album did <\/span>Blue Electric Light<\/span><\/em> wind up becoming?<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe album is, it’s just celebration, it\u2019s fun. It’s just carefree and loose and spiritual and sensual, but mainly it’s a lot of fun,\u201d Lenny says. \u201cIt’s a bit of the record I didn’t make in high school before I made my first album, <\/span>Let Love Rule<\/span><\/em>. I can sense the influence from that time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As for the message he hopes fans get after listening to <\/span>Blue Electric Light<\/span><\/em>, Kravitz shares, \u201cAs always, love. You know, love, unity, inclusion, God, humanity.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
