On May 24, 1974, Bad Company<\/strong>, the English supergroup made up of former Free<\/strong> members Paul Rodgers<\/strong> and Simon Kirke<\/strong>, former Mott The Hoople<\/strong> guitarist Mick Ralphs<\/strong> and former\u00a0King Crimson<\/strong> bassist Boz Burrell<\/strong>, released their self-titled debut album, which turned out to be a huge hit.<\/span><\/p>\n

The album hit #1 in the U.S., thanks to such classic songs as \u201c<\/span>Can\u2019t Get Enough of Your Love<\/strong><\/span><\/a>,\u201d <\/span>the title track<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, \u201cMovin\u2019 On\u201d and \u201cRock Steady,\u201d and went on to be certified five-times Platinum by the RIAA.<\/span><\/p>\n

You\u2019d think an album that made such an impact would have taken a long time to make, but frontman Rodgers tells ABC Audio it actually only took 10 days to complete.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were bursting at the seams to record all this stuff,\u201d he said, noting\u00a0they recorded it so quickly \u201cit\u00a0should be in the Guinness Book.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Kirke, who played drums in the band, adds that with so many well-established artists, making the album \u201cwas kind of like a perfect storm,\u201d\u00a0sharing it helped they were on Led Zeppelin<\/strong>\u2019s Swan Song record label.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMy goodness, it really couldn’t fail,\u201d he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen we were given the green light to go on the road with our new album, we shot out of that gate like a bunch of greyhounds,\u201d he\u00a0says. \u201cAnd the result was one of the great albums of all time.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rodgers says \u201cit\u2019s a very lovely feeling\u201d knowing the songs on <\/span>Bad Company<\/span><\/em> have stood the test of time after 50 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I listen back to it, I’m like, wow,\u201d he says. \u201cYou go back in time to that moment when I first put my fingers on the keyboard … and it’s a great feeling.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
