Foghat<\/strong> has dropped a new video for the track \u201c<\/span>Black Days & Blue Nights<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u201d from their latest release,\u00a0<\/span>Sonic Mojo,\u00a0<\/span><\/em>which came out in November.<\/span><\/p>\n

The clip is a live performance of the track, which is about the\u00a0late Rod Price<\/strong>, the band\u2019s original lead slide guitarist, who passed away in 2005.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis song is our Ode to Rod Price,\u201d founding member\/drummer Roger Earl<\/strong> shares. \u201cRod was a complicated man. He was a beautiful soul, and we were good friends when he joined the band.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Price left the group in 1980, with Roger noting that \u201cafter four or five years on the road, it started to wear on him. He was seeking a more peaceful existence. We were touring relentlessly and although Dave<\/strong> (Peverett<\/strong>) and I loved it, it was tough on Rod.\u201d\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad<\/span><\/p>\n

Singer Scott Holt<\/strong> adds, \u201cRod Price was the lynchpin of the guitars in Foghat. He was the lead guitar player and he created the sound that became Foghat. \u2018Slow Ride\u2019 doesn\u2019t exist without that iconic drum intro and Rod Price\u2019s slide playing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
