Benett\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In an extensive interview on\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/qktc4-9mXXc?si=y11AAKtFE14PhaGF&amp;t=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><span class=\"s1 s2\"><strong>Piers Morgan Uncensored<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a><span class=\"s1\">,\u00a0<strong>Kevin Spacey\u00a0<\/strong>opened up about the support he received from <strong>Elton John<\/strong> and his husband,\u00a0<strong>David Furnish<\/strong>, following the sexual assault allegations that derailed his Oscar-winning career.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Spacey was exonerated in courts in both the U.S. and the U.K., and told Morgan both stars have stood by him through it all.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;Elton was the first email I got on Oct. 30 of 2017 after the [<strong>Anthony<\/strong>]\u00a0<strong>Rapp\u00a0<\/strong>story had come out, saying, &#8216;We love you, whatever you need, we&#8217;re here for you,'&#8221; Spacey said.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The former\u00a0<\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">House of Cards\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">star also revealed he &#8220;didn&#8217;t ask&#8221; the pair to testify in his defense in the U.K. case, but they &#8220;insisted.&#8221;<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;I told them a piece of information that one of the accusers had said about them, which was not true, and Elton and David said, &#8216;Well, we have to testify. &#8230; We have to let the jury know that this individual is not telling the truth,'&#8221; he shared.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The trio had a reunion last summer in France, Spacey recalled, calling their dinner together &#8220;very beautiful.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">But while\u00a0Elton and David have\u00a0stood by Spacey, he says he\u2019s been shunned by many in Hollywood.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;Yeah, there are some people who definitely ran into the forest, but &#8230; I continually find myself very moved by people who take the time and to reach out to find out how I&#8217;m doing,&#8221; he said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
