Dead & Company<\/strong>\u00a0is currently in the midst of their Dead Forever residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, and while they’re only committed to shows through Aug. 10, it sounds like there may be more in the future.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

During an interview with<\/span> <\/span><\/em>Variety<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>, Dead & Company\u2019s Bob Weir<\/strong> sounded like he\u2019s already looking forward to what they\u2019ll be able to do with the Sphere\u2019s screens once the technology improves.<\/span><\/p>\n

Talking about what can be improved on when it comes to the visuals and the music, he notes, \u201cThe technology doesn\u2019t quite yet exist for them to put the visuals completely in time with the music (in a mammoth space).”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re generally a little late and all that kind of stuff. But there\u2019s audio technology that keeps right up with the music,” he says. “And I think what we\u2019re gonna want to do is try to adapt some of that audio technology to the visual technology.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Weir also says that all the visuals now need to be loaded ahead of the show, which he\u2019d love to change.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d love to see the arrangement get much looser and much more interactive \u2014 and I think it will, if we take another swing at it,\u201d he notes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Asked if all this talk suggests they\u2019d be up for returning to the Sphere, possibly as early as next year, he replied, \u201cPotentially. I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if we get invited back, and I would certainly make room for that.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n
