The solo work of Jethro Tull<\/strong>\u2019s Ian Anderson<\/strong> is the subject of a new box set coming in August.<\/span><\/p>\n

The limited-edition 10-LP box set, <\/span>8314 Boxed<\/span><\/em>, will include the first-time vinyl releases of 1995\u2019s <\/span>Divinities: Twelve Dances with God<\/span><\/em>, 2000\u2019s <\/span>The Secret Language of Birds<\/span><\/em>\u00a0and 2003\u2019s <\/span>Rupi’s Dance<\/span><\/em>. It will also include\u00a0half speed masters of 1983\u2019s <\/span>Walk Into Light <\/span><\/em>and\u00a02014\u2019s <\/span>Homo Erraticus<\/span><\/em>,\u00a0with the\u00a0<\/span>Divinities: Twelve Dances with God <\/span><\/em>LP also a half speed master.<\/span><\/p>\n

There\u2019s also 2012\u2019s <\/span>Thick as a Brick 2, <\/span><\/em>which was a sequel to Jethro Tull’s 1972 album,<\/span> Thick as a Brick,\u00a0<\/span><\/em>and <\/span>Roaming in the Gloaming<\/span><\/em>, an LP of previously unreleased live recordings from 1995 to 2007, plus a 96-page book with a foreword by Anderson.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Since 1983, I have made a few solo albums, not as dissatisfaction with fellow musicians or the group identity but usually just to try something a bit different, whether sonically, stylistically or in terms of instrumental line-up,\u201d Anderson shares. \u201cThese records all stand out for me as being quite different from each other and in some ways demonstrate a broader depth of my songwriting. The flute instrumental <\/span>Divinities<\/span><\/em> record is one of my favorites to this day.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

8314 Boxed<\/span><\/em> will be released Aug. 23 and is <\/span>available for preorder<\/strong><\/span><\/a> now.<\/span><\/p>\n
