Def Leppard<\/strong>\u00a0just <\/span>released the video<\/strong><\/span><\/a> for their latest single, \u201cJust Like 73,\u201d featuring Rage Against the Machine<\/strong>\u2019s Tom Morello<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The clip, which takes place in May 1973, features computer-generated younger versions of the guys in the band as they head to Earl\u2019s Court in London, with Morello flying to the U.K. and parachuting in just in time for his guitar solo.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Guitarist Phil Collen<\/strong> tells ABC Audio that director Frank Gryner<\/strong> didn\u2019t base their looks on actual old footage of him and his bandmates.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think I did look like that around 14, you know, that was kind of interesting,\u201d Collen says. \u201cHe kind of pretty much nailed it without even seeing the photos from then.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Collen says the band liked the video because it was \u201c<\/span>quaint\u201d and \u201cdidn’t seem like it was trying too hard.<\/span>\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

He adds that the director also got all the details for the time right, noting, \u201cThat little bike that I’m riding is a Chopper, which all the kids had on my block and around my area in East London when I grew up.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

And fans will soon get to hear the band play the song live. Def Leppard is set to launch their summer stadium tour with Journey<\/strong>\u00a0July 6 in St. Louis, with the <\/span>band noting<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, “We can\u2019t wait to play this one for you all on the tour!”<\/span><\/p>\n
