The late AC\/DC<\/strong> frontman Bon Scott<\/strong> will be celebrated in New York City\u00a0in July on what would have been his 78th birthday.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Bon Scott Estate has announced a tribute concert happening on the big day, July 9, at Arlene\u2019s Grocery on the Lower East Side. Although no artists have been announced for the concert, it is expected to feature 16 singers performing classic AC\/DC tracks with a backing band.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tickets <\/span>are on sale now<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

And that\u2019s not the only way Bon\u2019s 78th birthday is being marked. There will also be some new and unique merchandise fans can get their hands on, including two new and registered Bon Scott tartans that will be used for signature flannel shirts from\u00a0<\/span>Dixxon Flannel Company<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and made-to-order\u00a0kilts, vests, pants and more from\u00a0<\/span>Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Plus there will soon be new\u00a0Bon Scott figurines from\u00a0<\/span>Knucklebonz<\/strong><\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Super7<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, based on Bon\u2019s look during AC\/DC’s 1979 <\/span>Highway to Hell<\/span><\/em> tour.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scott was AC\/DC’s frontman from 1974 until his death in 1980, appearing on the band’s first seven albums. He was replaced by\u00a0Brian Johnson<\/strong>, who remains their frontman to this day.<\/span><\/p>\n
