Former Rolling Stones<\/strong> bassist Bill Wyman<\/strong> is back with new music.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famer will release his ninth studio album, <\/span>Drive My Car<\/span><\/em>, on Aug. 9. It\u00a0will be his first new album since 2015.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The album features five songs written by Wyman, who notes, \u201cIt\u2019s not something I do every day, but sometimes I just see a guitar in the corner of the room, pick it up to play around and then something clicks into place.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It also features covers of songs from Bob Dylan<\/strong>, John Prine<\/strong> and Taj Mahal<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The rocker cites musician JJ Cale <\/strong>as a big inspiration for the sound of the record,\u00a0noting \u201chis laidback groove has always appealed to me.” He adds, \u201cFriends I\u2019ve played it to have said things like \u2018it really sounds like you,\u2019 and that makes me happy. I\u2019ve never tried to be anyone else – I\u2019m Bill, basically.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

And Wyman is giving fans their first preview of <\/span>Drive My Car<\/span><\/em>\u00a0with the release of the album\u2019s <\/span>title track<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, which is now available on <\/span>digital outlets<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Drive My Car<\/span><\/em> will be released digitally, and on CD and vinyl. The CD and digital releases will feature two bonus tracks.<\/span><\/p>\n
