On This Day, July 12, 1962 …<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Rolling Stones\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 billed as The Rollin\u2019 Stones \u2013 played their first live show at London\u2019s Marquee Club.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the time, the band consisted of\u00a0Brian Jones<\/strong>,\u00a0Mick Jagger<\/strong>,\u00a0Keith Richards<\/strong>, pianist\u00a0Ian Stewart\u00a0<\/strong>and bassist\u00a0Dick Taylor<\/strong>; the drummer’s identity is disputed.<\/span><\/p>\n

In December of that year,\u00a0Bill Wyman\u00a0<\/strong>replaced Taylor as bassist, and in February 1963,\u00a0Charlie Watts\u00a0<\/strong>joined the band on drums.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Stones went on to become one of the most successful bands of all time, selling an estimated 200 million records. They also became one of the most successful touring bands, with 1997\/1998\u2019s <\/span>Bridges to Babylon<\/span><\/em>, 1994-1995\u2019s <\/span>Voodoo Lounge<\/span><\/em> and 2005-2007\u2019s <\/span>A Bigger Bang<\/span><\/em> among the highest grossing tours of all time.<\/span><\/p>\n

They are currently on their Hackney Diamonds tour. They play Los Angeles\u2019 SoFi Stadium on July 13, with the tour wrapping July 21 in Ridgedale, Montana.<\/span><\/p>\n
