On This Day, July 25, 1980 …<\/span><\/p>\n

AC\/DC\u00a0<\/strong>released their seventh studio album,\u00a0<\/span>Back in Black<\/span><\/em>, which was their first album following the death of singer\u00a0Bon Scott<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The album featured new lead singer\u00a0Brian Johnson\u00a0<\/strong>and contained such future AC\/DC classics as the title track, \u201cYou Shook Me All Night Long\u201d and \u201cHells Bells.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Back in Black\u00a0<\/span><\/em>was a massive hit for the Aussie rockers, becoming one of the bestselling albums of all time. It sold an estimated 50 million copies worldwide and as of July 2024 was certified 26-times Platinum by the RIAA.<\/span><\/p>\n
