{"id":30091,"date":"2024-08-08T15:02:32","date_gmt":"2024-08-08T15:02:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/paul-mccartney-and-wings-one-hand-clapping-documentary-coming-to-theaters-in-september\/"},"modified":"2024-08-08T15:02:32","modified_gmt":"2024-08-08T15:02:32","slug":"paul-mccartney-and-wings-one-hand-clapping-documentary-coming-to-theaters-in-september","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/paul-mccartney-and-wings-one-hand-clapping-documentary-coming-to-theaters-in-september\/","title":{"rendered":"Paul McCartney and Wings&#8217; &#8216;One Hand Clapping&#8217; documentary coming to theaters in September"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-08-07\/M_MaccaOneHandClapping_080724.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Courtesy MPL Productions Ltd.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Paul McCartney and Wings<\/strong> recently released the live album <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">One Hand Clapping, <\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">50 years after they recorded it, and now fans are going to get some insight into the making of the record with a new documentary.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">Paul McCartney and Wings \u2013 One Hand Clapping<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\"> will be released in theaters beginning Sept. 26, featuring footage and interviews with the band, as well as contributions from the creative team behind the album.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The\u00a0doc will also include the previously unreleased <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">Backyard Sessions<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">, with footage showing McCartney performing tracks from his catalog on acoustic guitar, as well as an intro by McCartney and\u00a0<\/span>Polaroid\u00a0<span class=\"s1\">photos from the recording session.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;It\u2019s so great to look back on that period and see the little live show we did,\u201d McCartney shares. \u201cWe made a pretty good noise actually! It was a great time for the band, we started to have success with Wings, which had been a long time coming.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">One Hand Clapping\u00a0<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\">was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in August 1974 as a video documentary and possible live album, although it never officially came out until its recent June release. The album includes live recordings of such Wings hits as \u201cLive and Let Die,\u201d \u201c<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=06udAVOe1Hg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Band on the Run<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">,\u201d \u201cJet\u201d and \u201cMy Love,\u201d as well as Paul\u2019s solo song \u201cMaybe I\u2019m Amazed\u201d and reworked versions of <strong>Beatles<\/strong> songs like \u201cLet It Be,\u201d \u201cLady Madonna\u201d and &#8220;The Long and Winding Road.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Tickets for the film go on sale Aug. 16.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"raw-html-embed\"><iframe width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/06udAVOe1Hg\" title=\"Paul McCartney and Wings \u2013 One Hand Clapping: Band On The Run (Film Clip)\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
