Attendees at the unveiling ceremony included <strong>E Street Band<\/strong> guitarist <strong>Steven Van Zandt<\/strong>; Hendrix&#8217;s sister <strong>Janie<\/strong>; and Hendrix&#8217;s recording engineer<strong> Eddie Kramer<\/strong>, who helped conceptualize the studio and who worked with everyone from <strong>The Beatles<\/strong> to the <strong>Stones<\/strong> to <strong>Bowie<\/strong> to <strong>Zeppelin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The renaming was done in conjunction with the new <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Eh4URMrsHe0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">documentary<\/a> <em>Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision,<\/em> which tells the story of the legendary studio \u2014 the first recording studio ever owned by an artist. The <a href=\"https:\/\/quadcinema.com\/film\/electric-lady-studios-a-jimi-hendrix-vision\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">film officially opens Aug. 9 in New York<\/a>\u00a0and will then hit theaters worldwide.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">As previously reported, the doc includes previously unseen footage and photos, and includes interviews from recording engineer <strong>Eddie Kramer<\/strong>, <strong>Experience <\/strong>bassist <strong>Billy Cox<\/strong>, original Electric Lady staff members and Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Famer <strong>Steve Winwood<\/strong>, who took part in Hendrix&#8217;s first session at the studio.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"s1\">The countdown is now on to see if someone steals the sign before it&#8217;s officially removed.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"raw-html-embed\"><iframe width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Eh4URMrsHe0\" title=\"Jimi Hendrix - Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision (Documentary Trailer)\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
