According to the compilation\u2019s description, it \u201coffers a fascinating early glimpse at his ever-evolving and truly limitless artistry.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The set features previously unreleased material, including\u00a0the song &#8220;Sad, Lonely Orphan Boy,\u201d\u00a0as well as rarities and\u00a0cult classics like \u201cThe Ostrich,\u201d a dance track released by the <strong>Primitives<\/strong>, which featured Reed and his future Velvet Underground bandmate <strong>John Cale<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The release also includes a booklet with unseen photos and essays by <strong>Patti Smith Group<\/strong> co-founder <strong>Lenny Kaye<\/strong> and music journalist <strong>Richie Unterberger<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">The album is being released in cooperation with Reed&#8217;s widow,\u00a0<strong>Laurie Anderson<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and the Lou Reed Archive. It will be released digitally on Sept. 27, with CD and two-LP editions dropping Oct. 4.
