On This Day, Aug. 21, 1965 …<\/span><\/p>\n

The Rolling Stones\u00a0<\/strong>landed their first #1 album in the United States with\u00a0<\/span>Out Of Our Heads<\/span><\/em>, which went on to hold the top spot for three weeks.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The band\u2019s fourth album released in the States,\u00a0<\/span>Out Of Our Heads\u00a0<\/span><\/em>featured the future Stones classic “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,\u201d which became their first #1 single in the U.S. and a staple at their live shows. The album also featured the top 10 single \u201cThe Last Time.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Out of Our Heads\u00a0<\/span><\/em>was certified Platinum by the RIAA. In addition to topping the U.S. chart, the album peaked at #2 in the U.K. and Australia.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Rolling Stones are still making music. Their most recent release, <\/span>Hackney Diamonds<\/span><\/em>, came out in October.<\/span><\/p>\n
