The venue, in the basement of the Best home, closed in 1962 \u2014 but not before The Beatles performed there more than 40 times. <strong>John Lennon<\/strong>\u2019s band the <strong>Quarryman<\/strong>\u00a0also played there.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Now Best and his younger brother <strong>Roag<\/strong> have turned the rooms above the club into a place any Beatles fan would love to stay. It features rooms named after\u00a0Lennon,\u00a0<strong>Paul McCartney<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>George Harrison<\/strong>, as well as original bassist <strong>Stuart Sutcliffe<\/strong> and Best, with each room featuring a \u201csprinkling\u201d of Beatles-related d\u00e9cor, like posters and photos.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">There is no room named after\u00a0<strong>Ringo Starr<\/strong>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>who replaced Best\u00a0before the band took off, but Roag insists it\u2019s not a slight at Ringo.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt&#8217;s nothing to do with Pete and Ringo and what happened,&#8221; he says. &#8220;Everything we do is about being authentic and The Beatles that performed and partied here were John, Paul, George, Pete and Stuart.&#8221; He notes, &#8220;Ringo was never a member when he was here.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
