Pink Floyd<\/strong>\u2019s David Gilmour<\/strong> is set to launch a solo tour this fall in support of his\u00a0upcoming solo album,\u00a0<\/span>Luck and Strange<\/span><\/em>, and it seems he\u2019s changed his mind about whether he plans to play\u00a0any\u00a0Pink Floyd<\/strong> songs on the trek.<\/span><\/p>\n

Gilmour previously suggested\u00a0in an interview\u00a0he didn\u2019t want to \u201crevisit the Pink Floyd of the ’70s\u201d on the tour, but it sounds like that\u2019s no longer the case.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOne has to wake up to reality once in a while,\u201d he tells <\/span>Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>. \u201cI think I will be doing one or two things from that time, but it just seems so long ago.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cI know people love them, and I love playing them. I\u2019ll be doing ‘Wish You Were Here,’ of course I will. And some of the things that started with me anyway.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gilmour also noted it\u2019s \u201cquite likely\u201d the set will include \u201cComfortably Numb,\u201d but probably not \u201cMoney\u201d \u201cif that\u2019s your reason for coming.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gilmour also seems to be backtracking on previous comments he made suggesting <\/span>Luck and Strange<\/span><\/em> was the best album he\u2019s made since Pink Floyd\u2019s\u00a01973 classic <\/span>The Dark Side of The Moon<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a flip statement, really,\u201d he says. \u201cI mean, it\u2019s not like\u00a0<\/span>Dark Side the Moon\u00a0<\/span><\/em>is even my favorite album. I think I prefer\u00a0<\/span>Wish You Were Here<\/span><\/em>.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cAnyway, it feels to me like it\u2019s the best thing I\u2019ve done in more or less my living memory, because some of those things feel like they were someone else, back in those eons ago.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gilmour will release <\/span>Luck and Strange<\/span><\/em> on Sept. 6. He\u2019ll launch his solo tour on Sept. 27 in Rome, Italy, with U.S. dates\u00a0kicking off Oct. 25 in Los Angeles. A complete list of dates can be found at <\/span>davidgilmour.com<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
