{"id":30242,"date":"2024-08-29T15:02:24","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T15:02:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/journeys-jonathan-cain-and-neal-schon-settle-latest-legal-dispute\/"},"modified":"2024-08-29T15:02:24","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T15:02:24","slug":"journeys-jonathan-cain-and-neal-schon-settle-latest-legal-dispute","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/journeys-jonathan-cain-and-neal-schon-settle-latest-legal-dispute\/","title":{"rendered":"Journey\u2019s Jonathan Cain and Neal Schon settle latest legal dispute"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-08-29\/Getty_Journey_082824.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Kevin Kane\/Getty Images for Scoop Marketing<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It looks like the latest dispute between <strong>Journey<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Jonathan Cain<\/strong> and <strong>Neal Schon<\/strong> is over.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A rep for Cain announced\u00a0he and Schon have resolved their legal dispute with regard to\u00a0appointing an impartial third party to settle any issues\u00a0pertaining to the management of their touring company, Freedom 2020.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Cain filed a lawsuit in Delaware in July detailing what he claimed was Schon\u2019s overspending, including maxing out a $1 million limit on the company\u2019s American Express credit card and charting private jets, accusations\u00a0that Schon said were \u201cabsolute rubbish.\u201d The suit requested the court appoint a third party to the board of their company to settle their disagreements, and that\u2019s exactly what has now happened.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMr. Schon ceded to Mr. Cain\u2019s demand and stipulated to the Court of Chancery\u2019s appointment of a third director of the Company,\u201d the statement from Cain\u2019s rep says. \u201cOn August 28, 2024, the Delaware Chancery Court issued an order appointing former Vice Chancellor <strong>Joseph Slights<\/strong> as the Custodian.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The statement notes that Schon is now \u201cprohibited from unilaterally acting on behalf of the Company and all future deadlock between Mr. Cain and Mr. Schon will be broken by the vote of the Custodian.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cMr. Cain is elated with the outcome and looks forward to moving beyond this matter so that Journey can continue the band\u2019s 50th\u00a0Anniversary Freedom Tour,\u201d the statement concludes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">ABC Audio has reached out to Schon\u2019s lawyer for comment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Schon and Cain have continued to tour together despite the dispute.
