Aerosmith<\/strong> may have retired from the road but bassist Tom Hamilton<\/strong>\u00a0doesn’t believe they’re\u00a0over for good.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a new interview with <\/span>AARP<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, Hamilton was asked to rate on a scale of one to 10 the likelihood of whether Aerosmith will do anything in the future, and he didn’t rule it out.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the hope scale, I\u2019m somewhere between seven and nine,\u201d he says. \u201cWe won\u2019t be doing any tours from now on, but I\u2019ll always have hope that other types of opportunities will come along.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cThis isn\u2019t the first time black clouds have been on our horizon \u2014 and somehow the sun managed to come out. Time and hope are all we have at the moment.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Aerosmith\u00a0<\/strong>canceled their Peace Out tour and retired from the road in early August, citing Steven Tyler<\/strong>\u2019s continuing vocal problems. He fractured his larynx when the tour first launched in 2023. The new dates were supposed to kick off in September.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hamilton says he \u201cwas surprised but not shocked” by the cancellation, noting \u201cit was a real punch in the gut.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

As for\u00a0<\/span>what<\/span><\/em> the future holds for Aerosmith, Hamilton doesn’t seem to know. While\u00a0he says there’s hope\u00a0<\/strong>Tyler\u00a0recovers completely,\u00a0he\u00a0insists\u00a0they won’t be touring. But he notes \u201cthere are a lot of other ways to be and do Aerosmith.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He also says he has doubts of a another Aerosmith residency in Las Vegas. As for new music, he shares, \u201cSo far there hasn\u2019t been any talk about a new Aerosmith album.”<\/span><\/p>\n
