Peter Frampton <\/strong>is getting ready to launch his Positively Thankful tour, and after all these years performing, he likes to change things up now and again when making his set list.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cObviously there’s certain songs that have to be there,\u201d Frampton tells ABC Audio, but after that he and his bandleader,\u00a0Rob Arthur<\/strong>, have some fun finding new songs to play.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe go, ‘OK, we need a couple of songs we haven’t done before. Let’s go through the albums to have a look, you know, and have a listen,’\u201d he says. \u201cAnd we change it up that way.” He adds that this time \u201cwe’ll probably do another couple of things that we haven’t done before.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

And while fans sometimes surprise him with\u00a0songs they want to hear, in the end\u00a0Frampton has the final say.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe bottom line is selfish in as much as we want to play the ones we enjoy playing,\u201d he\u00a0says. \u201cYou know, there’s certain songs we have to do, but luckily we enjoy doing those too,” joking, “But put it this way, we don’t rehearse ‘Do You Feel Like I Do.’\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Frampton\u00a0says his favorite thing about touring is the “time\u00a0on stage.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLike they say, you know, they don’t pay us for the two hours on stage. They pay us for the 22 hours of getting there.”<\/span><\/p>\n

He also loves being with his band and crew, who\u00a0feel like family.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI look forward to being with everybody,\u201d he says. \u201cAnd everyone in my road family is there, they\u2019ll cancel other things just to be there, you know? And that blows me away.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n
