They also sought $3 million to cover licensing fees for the times the song has already been used without permission between 2022 and 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hayes\u2019 son\u00a0<strong>Isaac Hayes III<\/strong>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C_dwFCtvaX_\/?hl=en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>announced on social media<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">\u00a0that during an emergency hearing held Tuesday, the judge issued a preliminary injunction barring the former president from playing Hayes\u2019 music \u201cever again.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cWe are please(d) with the decision by the court and move to the next phase of this lawsuit,\u201d he wrote, thanking their lawyer\u00a0<strong>James L. Walker Jr<\/strong>.<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and his team \u201cfor their hard work achieving the first step in our copyright infringement case against Donald Trump and Donald Trump for President.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In a video posted to his site, Hayes\u2019 son insisted that the legal matter was \u201ctotally not politically motivated.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">But it wasn\u2019t a complete win for the Hayes\u2019 family.
