Fans of The Who<\/strong> now have a chance to own a pretty unique piece of band memorabilia.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Vespa GS Scooter that was featured\u00a0during\u00a0the band\u2019s 1996 <\/span>Quadrophenia<\/span><\/em> tour is being auctioned off by <\/span>Sotheby\u2019s<\/strong><\/span><\/a> a part of\u00a0the auction house’s first ever Popular Culture auction in London.<\/span><\/p>\n

The scooter, a Piaggio 1964 Vespa, was ridden onstage during the performance of \u201cBell Boy\u201d by Billy Idol<\/strong>, who was portraying the character of Ace Face. Following the tour it was stored in frontman Roger Daltrey<\/strong>\u2019s garage, and then was restored and exhibited at the Royal Albert Hall during The Who’s March 2023 Teenage Cancer Trust charity shows.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bidding is open until Sept. 12. The Vespa is expected to sell for between $26,000 and $40,000. Proceeds will benefit\u00a0<\/span>Teenage Cancer Trust<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
