Bruce Springsteen<\/strong> and The E Street Band<\/strong> headlined the Sea.Hear.Now festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Sunday, treating the crowd to a set filled with songs he hadn\u2019t been playing on the rest of their tour.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The set featured several tour debuts, many from early in his career, a likely homage to the fact the band got their start playing clubs in the beachside town.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to <\/span>setlist.fm<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, tour debuts included \u201cBlinded by the Light\u201d and \u201cDoes This Bus Stop at 82nd Street?,\u201d the first time they played either song since 2017; \u201cThundercrack,\u201d for the first time since 2016; \u201c4th of July, Asbury Park (Sandy),\u201d which was dedicated to late E Street Band member Danny Federici<\/strong>; \u201cMeeting Across the River,\u201d\u00a0also for the first time since 2016; “Local Hero”; and a cover of Tom Waits<\/strong>\u2019 \u201cJersey Girl,\u201d\u00a0the latter of which\u00a0closed the show.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0set also featured Bruce\u2019s wife, E Street Band member Patti Scialfa<\/strong>, who came out for \u201cTougher Than The Rest.\u201d Her performance was her first public appearance since the revelation she’d been\u00a0diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2018.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Bruce also treated fans to plenty of his usual classics, like \u201cThunder Road,\u201d \u201cTenth Avenue Freeze Out,\u201d \u201cBorn to Run,\u201d \u201cRosalita (Come Out Tonight),” “Dancing in the Dark” and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

But playing just his set wasn’t enough for The Boss. Springsteen also turned up for surprise appearances during sets by The Gaslight Anthem<\/strong> and Trey Anastasio Band<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Boss helped fellow New Jersey natives The Gaslight Anthem open their set with their collaboration \u201cHistory Books” and stuck around to join them on their classic \u201cAmerican Slang.\u201d And during Trey’s set,\u00a0<\/strong>Bruce\u00a0joined\u00a0him for a cover of his own track \u201cKitty\u2019s Back.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
