REO Speedwagon<\/strong>\u00a0is getting ready to retire from the road. The band announced <\/span>on social media<\/strong><\/span><\/a> they will stop touring in 2025, citing\u00a0\u201cirreconcilable differences\u201d within the band.<\/span><\/p>\n

In the post, the band indicated that their issues\u00a0stem from\u00a0bassist and vocalist\u00a0Bruce Hall<\/strong>\u2019s inability to tour. Hall had been absent from the road since November 2023, when he left\u00a0to have back surgery.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Bruce has intended to be Back On the Road Again by now. If it were up to just him, he\u2019d be back on tour\u2026 but it’s not up to just him,\u201d the band shared. \u201cThe consensus opinion was that he had not recovered sufficiently to be able to perform at the level the fans have come to expect.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

They post noted, \u201cBruce never had any intention of retiring or walking away from the band, fans, and crew he has loved for almost 50 years.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

It also said that frontman Kevin Cronin<\/strong>, who, without Bruce, was the only remaining original member\u00a0touring with the group, \u201ctoo has never had any intention of leaving the band, and the fans and crew mean the world to him, as well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cDue to this complex situation, irreconcilable differences arose between Bruce and Kevin. So, it is with great sadness that we announce REO Speedwagon will cease touring effective January 1, 2025,\u201d the post reads. \u201cNeal<\/strong> (Doughty<\/strong>), Kevin, and Bruce thank their fans for all their years of loyal support and for giving back to the band such wonderful memories that will remain with each of them forever.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But fans do have\u00a0some more chances to see REO Speedwagon on the road. Their next show is happening Sept. 27 in Rancho Mirage, California, and they have dates confirmed through Nov. 23 in Lexington, Kentucky.<\/p>\n
