David Gilmour<\/strong> has a top\u00a010 album with his latest solo release,\u00a0<\/span>Luck and Strange<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The former Pink Floyd<\/strong> member\u2019s fifth solo release debuts at #10 on the <\/span>Billboard<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a> 200 album chart, his first top 10 record since 2015\u2019s <\/span>Rattle That Lock<\/span><\/em>\u00a0landed at #5. His only other solo top 10 was 2006\u2019s <\/span>On an Island<\/span><\/em>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gilmour moved 32,000 equivalent album units of <\/span>Luck and Strange<\/span><\/em> in its first week in release, 30,000 of which were in traditional album sales, landing it at #1 on the Top Album Sales chart.<\/span><\/p>\n

While\u00a0Gilmour’s\u00a0only had three solo top 10 albums, as a member of Pink Floyd he\u2019s earned 10, including five #1 albums: 1973’s\u00a0<\/span>The Dark Side of the Moon<\/span><\/em>, 1975’s\u00a0<\/span>Wish You Were Here,\u00a0<\/span><\/em>1979’s The<\/span> Wall<\/span><\/em>, 1994’s\u00a0<\/span>The Division Bell<\/span><\/em>\u00a0and 1995’s live album\u00a0<\/span>Pulse<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

As previously reported, <\/span>Luck and Strange<\/span><\/em>\u00a0charted even better in the U.K., debuting at #1 on the U.K.’s\u00a0<\/span>Official Album Chart<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, making it\u00a0Gilmour’s third #1 album in the U.K.<\/span><\/p>\n
