A coroner later ruled he died after asphyxiating on his own vomit after taking barbiturates.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hendrix was only 27 years old when he passed, but he had already left his mark on the musical world, thanks to such songs as \u201cPurple Haze,\u201d \u201cHey Joe\u201d and \u201cThe Wind Cries Mary,\u201d and his classic album\u00a0<\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">Are You Experienced?<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\"> He was also well known for his live performances, including iconic sets at the Woodstock Festival in 1969 and the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Hendrix was posthumously inducted into the Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Fame in 1992 with his band\u00a0<strong>The\u00a0Jimi Hendrix Experience<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">And\u00a0Hendrix fans will soon learn more about him.
