Following the loss of both her mother and her sister in August, Mariah Carey<\/strong> is “doing the best that she possibly can.” That’s according to her ex-husband Nick Cannon<\/strong>, the father of her twins,\u00a0Monroe<\/strong> and Moroccan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On Aug. 27, Mariah revealed to People<\/em><\/a>, “My heart is broken that I\u2019ve lost my mother this past weekend. Sadly, in a tragic turn of events, my sister lost her life on the same day.\u201d Her mom,\u00a0Patricia<\/strong>,\u00a0was 87; her sister,\u00a0Alison<\/strong>, was 63. Their respective causes of death haven’t been revealed.<\/p>\n

Cannon tells <\/em>Page Six<\/em><\/a>, “She\u2019s doing the best that she possibly can, considering the circumstances. But as a family, we just got to be there to support one another, show love.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, “She\u2019s really having a great time with the kids. That is, you know, the most important thing in the world to her, so it\u2019s outstanding to see them supporting their mom the way they do.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to her Instagram<\/a>, Mariah took the twins with her when she performed<\/a> in Beijing, China, on Sept. 15 and Sept. 16; she has a show<\/a> in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil, on Sept. 20.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Nick tells Page Six<\/em>\u00a0the fact that the twins are now teenagers is hard to get used to.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter, she\u2019s wearing makeup now … it scared me,\u201d he said of Monroe. “Like, we were getting ready to go, we\u2019re in Malibu about to go to dinner, and I was like, \u2018What is taking her so long?\u2019\u201d The<\/em> Masked Singer<\/em> host said when he went to check, he found tons of hair and makeup products in her bedroom.<\/p>\n

“I was like, \u2018Wow, you\u2019re just like your mom,\u2019\u201d he recalled. \u201cIt\u2019s beautiful to see, but scary all at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n
