{"id":30427,"date":"2024-09-23T21:04:00","date_gmt":"2024-09-23T21:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/megadeth-responds-to-peter-framptons-claims-they-were-responsible-for-show-cancellation\/"},"modified":"2024-09-23T21:04:00","modified_gmt":"2024-09-23T21:04:00","slug":"megadeth-responds-to-peter-framptons-claims-they-were-responsible-for-show-cancellation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/megadeth-responds-to-peter-framptons-claims-they-were-responsible-for-show-cancellation\/","title":{"rendered":"Megadeth responds to Peter Frampton&#8217;s claims they were responsible for show cancellation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-09-23\/M_PeterFramptonABC_040124.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Disney\/Jenny Anderson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Megadeth<\/strong> has responded to claims made by <strong>Peter Frampton<\/strong> that they were partially to blame for him having to cancel a recent show in Virginia.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">During his concert in Philadelphia on Sept. 19, Frampton opened up about his decision to cancel\u00a0his Sept. 17\u00a0concert at Virginia Credit Union Live in Richmond, noting it was partially due to weather and partially due some structural damage to the stage, which he said happened during Megadeth\u2019s soundcheck a few days before.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The band is now clearing up what they say is \u201cmisinformation\u201d about what happened.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Megadeth says in a statement they didn\u2019t even get a chance to soundcheck at the venue, noting their \u201crigger was in the venue&#8217;s steel grid system above the stage getting ready to hang the lights when he noticed there was damage to the venue&#8217;s grid.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The rigger than pointed out the problem to the venue, and they \u201cdetermined that it was unsafe\u201d to proceed with the band\u2019s production, or to even put them onstage, so the show was canceled.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cIt seems Frampton was misinformed about our show being canceled,\u201d says Megadeth\u2019s <strong>Dave Mustaine<\/strong>. \u201cThe decision was purely based on safety. It&#8217;s disappointing when someone you admire talks out their a** about you.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">So far Frampton hasn\u2019t responded to Megadeth\u2019s statement.<\/span><br \/>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
