Paul Simon<\/strong> hasn\u2019t performed live all that much since revealing he lost his hearing, but he took the stage Monday night in New York for The Soho Sessions, which was a fundraiser for the Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to <\/span>setlist.fm<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, Simon performed a seven-song set: “Mrs. Robinson,” “Slip Slidin\u2019 Away,” “Mother and Child Reunion,” “Me and Julio Down By The School Yard,” “Homeward Bound,” “The Boxer” and “Sound of Silence.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The New York Post<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a> <\/span><\/em>reports that Simon had a bit of help during\u00a0\u201cMe and Julio Down By The School Yard,\u201d when former Yankees centerfielder\/jazz guitarist Bernie Williams<\/strong> joined in on the song\u2019s whistling solo.<\/span><\/p>\n

The paper notes that Simon then handed Williams $17 for payment,\u00a0joking\u00a0it was all he had with him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Simon revealed in May 2023 that he had lost hearing in his left ear, making it difficult\u00a0for him\u00a0play. In March, he\u00a0shared that his hearing had returned enough to make him feel comfortable singing and playing guitar again.<\/span><\/p>\n

He has since performed the occasional song, including \u201cGraceland\u201d at a White House state dinner in April and “Your Forgiveness,” from his most recent\u00a0album,\u00a0<\/span>Seven Psalms<\/span><\/em>, on <\/span>The Late Show with Stephen Colbert<\/span><\/em>, in March.<\/span><\/p>\n
