U2<\/strong> is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 11th studio album,\u00a0<\/span>How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb<\/span><\/em>, with what they’re calling a \u201cshadow album,” featuring songs from the original album\u2019s recording sessions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Dubbed<\/span> <\/span><\/em>How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span><\/em>the album features\u00a010 previously unreleased\u00a0tracks from the band\u2019s archive, including two newly released songs, \u201c<\/span>Country Mile<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u201d and \u201c<\/span>Picture of You (X+Y)<\/strong><\/span><\/a>,” which are available now via <\/span>digital outlets<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe sessions for <\/span>How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb<\/span><\/em> were such a creative period for the band, we were exploring so many song ideas in the studio,\u201d guitarist The Edge<\/strong> shares. \u201cFor this anniversary edition I went into my personal archive to see if there were any unreleased gems and I hit the jackpot.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cWhat you\u2019re getting on this shadow album is that raw energy of discovery, the visceral impact of the music, a sonic narrative, a moment in time, the exploration and interaction of four musicians playing together in a room\u2026 this is the pure U2 drop.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The standalone<\/span> How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb<\/span><\/em> will be released Nov. 29 as an\u00a0exclusive for Record Store Day Black Friday, along with a digital release.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition to the shadow album, U2 will release a special 20th anniversary remastered edition of <\/span>How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb<\/span><\/em>, featuring the bonus track \u201cFast Car.\u201d They’ll also release a package with the remaster and the shadow album together, dubbed <\/span>How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb (Re-Assemble Edition)<\/span><\/em>. Both will be released Nov. 22.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n
