Barbra Streisand<\/strong> has paid tribute to her <\/span>A Star Is Born<\/span><\/em> co-star Kris Kristofferson<\/strong>, who passed away Sept. 28 at the age of 88.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe first time I saw Kris performing at the Troubadour club in L.A. I knew he was something special,\u201d she wrote <\/span>on Instagram<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. \u201cBarefoot and strumming his guitar, he seemed like the perfect choice for a script I was developing, which eventually became A Star Is Born.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The pair starred in the 1976 version of the film, with Babs noting that in the\u00a0movie he sang the film\u2019s love theme \u201cEvergreen,\u201d which she co-wrote with Paul Williams<\/strong>.\u00a0Streisand’s version of the song went to #1 and the song\u00a0went on to win an Oscar for Best Original Song.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cFor my latest concert in 2019 at London\u2019s Hyde Park, I asked Kris to join me on-stage to sing our other A Star Is Born duet, ‘Lost Inside Of You,\u2019\u201d she continued. \u201cHe was as charming as ever, and the audience showered him with applause. It was a joy seeing him receive the recognition and love he so richly deserved.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally she noted, \u201cMy thoughts go to Kris\u2019 wife, Lisa who I know supported him in every way possible.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Kristofferson’s death was announced Sunday with a post on his <\/span>official Facebook account<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. In addition to his acting work, Kristofferson was<\/span>\u00a0famous\u00a0for his songwriting, including tunes like “Me and Bobby McGee,” “Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down” and “Help Me Make It Through the Night.”<\/span><\/p>\n
