Pink Floyd<\/strong> fans holding out hope that one day David Gilmour<\/strong> and Roger Waters<\/strong> would put away their differences and perform together again are bound to be disappointed.<\/span><\/p>\n

The pair have been at odds for years, but their relationship turned particularly rocky last year when Gilmour\u2019s wife and co-writer\u00a0Polly Samson<\/strong> tweeted that Waters was a \u201cPutin<\/strong> apologist,\u201d amongst other things, and Gilmour backed her up, tweeting, \u201cEvery word demonstrably true.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In a new interview with <\/span>The Guardian<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>, Gilmour put to rest any thought\u00a0of ever playing with Waters again.\u00a0When asked by the paper if that was even a possibility, Gilmour responded, \u201cabsolutely not,\u201d citing Waters’ very outspoken political views.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI tend to steer clear of people who actively support genocidal and autocratic dictators like Putin and Maduro<\/strong> [president of Venezuela],\u201d he said. \u201cNothing would make me share a stage with someone who thinks such treatment of women and the LGBT community is OK.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Gilmour also noted that one member of Pink Floyd he\u2019d love to have a chance to perform with again is\u00a0their late keyboardist Richard Wright<\/strong>, calling him \u201cone of the gentlest and must musically gifted people I\u2019ve ever known.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
