The Doors<\/strong> will celebrate their 60th anniversary next year, and they are kicking off the festivities early with some new releases.<\/span><\/p>\n

The legendary band is launching the anniversary with a brand new logo and will follow that with a limited-edition six-LP set, <\/span>The Doors 1967-1971<\/span><\/em>, that features high fidelity audio vinyl of all six of the band\u2019s original studio albums. The set, limited to 3,000 copies, will be released Nov. 22. It will come with rare photos and liner notes by Doors archivist David Dutkowski<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Doors 1967-1971<\/span><\/em>\u00a0will be available\u00a0exclusively at <\/span>thedoors.com<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>rhino.com<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The anniversary will also be celebrated with the Nov. 29 Record Store Day Black Friday release of <\/span>The Doors \u2013 Live in Detroit<\/span><\/em>, a four-LP set of the band\u2019s May 8, 1970, concert at Cobo Arena in Detroit, Michigan.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Plus, The Doors anthology book, <\/span>Night Divides The Day<\/span><\/em>, is coming in January and is\u00a0<\/span>available for preorder<\/strong><\/span><\/a> now, with more announcements to come.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Jim Morrison<\/strong> and Ray Manzarek <\/strong>co-founded The Doors in July 1965, with drummer\u00a0John Densmore\u00a0<\/strong>joining\u00a0in August of that year, followed by guitarist\u00a0Robby Krieger<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The band released their self-titled debut in January 1967, containing future classics \u201cLight My Fire\u201d and \u201cBreak On Through (To The Other Side).” They went on to sell over 34 million records worldwide and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1993.<\/span><\/p>\n
