Elvis Costello<\/strong> and T Bone Burnett<\/strong> are set to star in a new Audible series that will come with a companion album.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The True Story of The Coward Brothers,<\/span><\/em> written by Costello and directed by <\/span>This Is Spinal Tap\u2019s<\/span><\/em> Christopher Guest<\/strong>, is a three-part scripted audio series that tells the satirical story of Henry and Howard Coward, two musical brothers, one English, one American.\u00a0During the series, the brothers share\u00a0tales of their career and\u00a0of being duped by their manager while being interviewed for a radio show, hosted by Sterling Lockhart, voiced by <\/span>This Is Spinal Tap\u2019s<\/span><\/em> Harry Shearer<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The True Story of The Coward Brothers<\/span><\/em> will <\/span>debut on Audible<\/strong><\/span><\/a> Nov. 21, with Costello and Burnett releasing a 20-track companion album, <\/span>The Coward Brothers<\/span><\/em>, on the same day. It will feature the fictional duo\u2019s forgotten hits, like \u201cPure Bubblegum,\u201d \u201cLike Licorice” and \u201cWorld Serious.\u201d The first song from the album, \u201c<\/span>Always<\/strong><\/span><\/a>,\u201d is out now via <\/span>digital outlets<\/strong><\/span><\/a>.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The album will be released digitally and on CD, LP and limited-edition licorice red vinyl. There will also be a limited-edition pink bubblegum vinyl released Nov. 15 at Barnes & Noble.<\/span><\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the first time the pair has used the name The Coward Brothers. In 1985 they released the tune \u201cThe People\u2019s Limousine\u201d under that moniker.<\/span><\/p>\n
