Def Leppard<\/strong> and Journey<\/strong> spent the summer on the road together, and Def Leppard\u2019s Phil Collen<\/strong> is opening up about what it was like touring with a band whose members weren\u2019t exactly getting along.<\/span><\/p>\n

Over the summer Journey\u2019s Neal Schon<\/strong> and Jonathan Cain<\/strong> were suing each other over financial disagreements, but Collen says it didn\u2019t affect the tour at all.<\/span><\/p>\n

When asked by <\/span>Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a> whether it was “weird” touring with a band that\u2019s dealing with infighting, Collen shared, \u201cIt would be, but we didn\u2019t see it when we saw them.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI know the whole beef is mainly Jonathan and Neal, but when we get to see them, they\u2019re just always just lovely and just wonderful,\u201d he said. \u201cSo you don\u2019t really get into whatever they\u2019re going through, that other stuff. We just see them on stage hearing, ‘Don\u2019t Stop Believing,’ ‘Open Arms,’ and all that stuff, and it\u2019s pretty magical.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Unlike Journey, Collen says all the members of Def Leppard get along.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve only ever have one dressing room. We make a point of doing that,\u201d he says. \u201cIf we can we\u2019re always in one room, and it\u2019s just magical. It\u2019s like a bunch of arrested development. Everyone makes each other laugh.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Journey are such a great band. I hope they get everything sorted out,” he added. “But it sure wouldn\u2019t happen to us. We just have a different approach. I don\u2019t want to be in separate rooms from the rest of the guys. None of us do.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
