Foghat<\/strong> has just released a new single dedicated to their original lead singer and guitarist, Lonesome<\/strong> Dave Peverett<\/strong>, who passed away in 2000.<\/span><\/p>\n

The tune, \u201cOn Tonsils & Sneakers,\u201d is inspired by Peverett\u2019s stage introduction, \u201c\u2026 on Tonsils and Sneakers, I\u2019m Lonesome Dave,\u201d and celebrates the silver and gold sneakers the rocker would wear during shows.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Lonesome Dave sang and played with this band, he gave nothing less than 100%,\u201d drummer and founding member Roger Earl<\/strong> shares. \u201cI loved playing with Dave. All I had to do was have fun playing drums.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“Every once in a while you meet someone who changes the whole trajectory of your life,\u201d guitarist Bryan Bassett<\/strong>\u00a0adds. \u201cLonesome Dave Peverett was that person for me. From the day we met in the late \u201880s our friendship blossomed, I became his touring partner, I met my future wife and became a part of the Foghat family.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>On Tonsils & Sneakers<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u201d is out now via <\/span>digital outlets<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u00a0and will be released on 7-inch red translucent vinyl on Nov. 29 for Record Store Black Friday. The B-side will feature \u201cBlack Days & Blue Nights,\u201d a song from Foghat\u2019s\u00a02023 album,\u00a0<\/span>Sonic Mojo, <\/span><\/em>which was a tribute to the band\u2019s original slide guitarist, Rod Price<\/strong>, who passed away in 2005.<\/span><\/p>\n
