U2<\/strong> has shared a <\/span>short documentary<\/strong><\/span><\/a> about the making of the video for their\u00a02004 hit \u201c<\/span>Vertigo<\/strong><\/span><\/a>,\u201d which was the lead single off their 11th studio album,\u00a0<\/span>How To Dismantle an Atomic Bomb<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on guitarist\u00a0The Edge<\/strong>‘s comments, it would seem the video wasn’t exactly pleasant to make.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe finally managed to persuade somebody to shoot a video of us somewhere warm,\u201d\u00a0he\u00a0says of their location in a Spanish desert, \u201cand what happens? We get rained on. We get hurricane strength winds. Sand blasted.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The video then shoots to Bono<\/strong>, who shares he \u201clove[s] the smell of sand up my nose in the morning.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Edge\u00a0later jokes, \u201cIt\u2019s not easy being a rock star these days.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The video for “Vertigo,” directed by the team of\u00a0Alex & Martin<\/strong>, won a Grammy for Best Short Form Music Video in 2005.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The making of the video\u2019s release is part of the band\u2019s celebration of the 20th anniversary of <\/span>How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb<\/span><\/em>. In honor of the occasion, the band is also releasing what they’re calling a \u201cshadow album,” <\/span>How To Re-Assemble An Atomic Bomb<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span><\/em>featuring 10 previously unreleased tracks from the album\u2019s recording sessions.\u00a0It will be released Nov. 29 as an exclusive for Record Store Day Black Friday, along with a digital release.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, on Nov. 22 U2 will release a special 20th anniversary remastered edition of\u00a0<\/span>How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb<\/span><\/em>, featuring the bonus track \u201cFast Car,\u201d as well as a package with the remaster and the shadow album together, dubbed\u00a0<\/span>How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb (Re-Assemble Edition).<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n
