A new class of musicians were welcomed into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Saturday night in Cleveland.<\/span><\/p>\n

Foreigner\u00a0<\/strong>was inducted by former\u00a0Valen Halen\u00a0<\/strong>vocalist\u00a0Sammy Hagar<\/strong>.\u00a0Guns N’ Roses\u00a0<\/strong>shredder\u00a0Slash\u00a0<\/strong>and Red Hot Chili Peppers<\/strong> drummer\u00a0Chad Smith<\/strong> joined members of the current touring incarnation of Foreigner, while\u00a0Demi Lovato<\/strong>, Hagar and\u00a0Kelly Clarkson\u00a0<\/strong>sang “Feels Like the First Time,” “Hot Blooded” and “I Want to Know What Love Is,” respectively, the last of which also featured original vocalist\u00a0Lou Gramm<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

As previously reported, guitarist\u00a0Mick Jones<\/strong>, who has Parkinson’s disease, did not attend the ceremony, and neither did drummer\u00a0Dennis Elliott<\/strong>. Jones’ daughter gave a speech on his behalf, followed by remarks by Gramm, Al Greenwood<\/strong> and Rick Wills<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Who<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Roger Daltrey\u00a0<\/strong>inducted\u00a0Peter Frampton<\/strong>, and\u00a0Bryan Adams\u00a0<\/strong>also called in from a concert to congratulate him.<\/span><\/p>\n

Frampton, who has\u00a0the degenerative muscle disease inclusion body myositis, performed while seated, delivering renditions of “Something’s Happening” and a particularly shred-heavy version of “Do You Feel Like We Do” alongside\u00a0Keith Urban<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cher <\/strong>was inducted into the Rock Hall by Zendaya<\/strong>, who paid tribute to Cher\u2019s legendary fashion style with a Bob Mackie<\/strong>-style\u00a0sheer dress.\u00a0Cher teamed with Dua Lipa<\/strong> for a performance of \u201cBelieve\u201d and also performed \u201cIf I Could Turn Back Time.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Cher even got in a joke\u00a0about how long it took her to get into the HOF, noting, “It was easier getting divorced from two men than it was to get into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The late Jimmy Buffett<\/strong> and Dionne Warwick<\/strong> were both inducted into the Musical Excellence category,\u00a0 with\u00a0James Taylor<\/strong> and Teyana Taylor<\/strong>\u00a0handling the induction speeches, respectively.\u00a0James also performed Buffett’s classic “Come Monday” with Kenny Chesney<\/strong> and Mac McAnally<\/strong>. Meanwhile, inductees Kool and the Gang<\/strong> got the audience dancing to a medley of their hits, including \u201cCelebrate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The other inductees included\u00a0Dave Matthews Band<\/strong>, Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong>,\u00a0A Tribe Called Quest<\/strong>,\u00a0Mary J. Blige<\/strong>,\u00a0Norman Whitfield<\/strong>,\u00a0Big Mama Thornton<\/strong>,\u00a0John Mayall\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Alexis Korner<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

On Jan. 1, ABC will air the special\u00a02024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony<\/em>, featuring performance highlights.<\/p>\n
