Who does not threaten but wants to protect and guide our great democracy,\u201d he said. \u201cWho believes in the rule of law and the peaceful transfer of power. Who will fight for a woman\u2019s right to choose and who wants to create a middle class economy that will serve all our citizens.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThere is only one candidate in this election who holds those principles dear, Kamala Harris,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Springsteen\u00a0argued that Harris is \u201crunning to be the 47th president of the United States, <strong>Donald Trump<\/strong> is running to be an American tyrant,\u201d adding, \u201cHe does not understand this country, its history or what it means to be deeply American.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">But Springsteen wasn\u2019t the only Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Famer who came out in support of the Democratic ticket. <strong>James Taylor<\/strong> performed at Walz\u2019s rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, performing \u201cYou\u2019ve Got A Friend\u201d with his wife,\u00a0<strong>Kim<\/strong>, and his son <strong>Henry.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Taylor was supposed to perform the same song at the Democratic National Convention, but his spot was cut for time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
