{"id":30731,"date":"2024-10-29T18:01:31","date_gmt":"2024-10-29T18:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/exhibit-honoring-luther-vandross-coming-to-grammy-museum\/"},"modified":"2024-10-29T18:01:31","modified_gmt":"2024-10-29T18:01:31","slug":"exhibit-honoring-luther-vandross-coming-to-grammy-museum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/exhibit-honoring-luther-vandross-coming-to-grammy-museum\/","title":{"rendered":"Exhibit honoring Luther Vandross coming to Grammy Museum"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-10-29\/Getty_LutherVandross_102924.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Photo by Paul Natkin\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The Grammy Museum in LA is placing a spotlight on <strong>Luther Vandross<\/strong> in a new exhibit called\u00a0<em>Luther Vandross: Artistry and Elegance.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It will feature glimpses of his career, including\u00a0hand-beaded suits and jumpsuits worn during his 1991 Power of Love tour; handwritten lyrics, studio notes and an exclusive recording of Luther creating &#8220;I Can Make It Better&#8221;;\u00a0original sheet music for \u201cNever Too Much&#8221;; and six of his Grammys.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Luther Vandross Estate is excited to be sharing Luther\u2019s musical legacy with the Grammy Museum and its visitors through this upcoming exhibit,\u201d the estate, which is partnering with Primary Wave Music for the exhibit, announced. \u201cIt is a special window into all of Luther Vandross\u2019 talents \u2014 singer, of course, but also music producer, live performer, stage craft master, wardrobe designer and songwriter. Showcasing all of these amazing elements of Luther the artist via the long-cherished possessions of his personal archives is a treat for die-hard fans and new ones.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLuther Vandross is a cherished icon who defined the smooth, jazz-inspired era of R&amp;B and whose timeless love songs have graced countless weddings, graduations, and family reunions for the past several decades,\u201d adds Grammy Museum curator <strong>Kelsey Goelz<\/strong>. \u201cThe Grammy Museum is thrilled to provide fans a close look into his incredible achievements in the studio and onstage.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Luther Vandross: Artistry and Elegance <\/em>opens Nov. 20 with a screening of the \ufeff<em>Luther: Never Too Much\u00a0<\/em>documentary and a panel with the filmmakers. Tickets for the exhibit, running through June 15, are available at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.grammymuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Grammy Museum website<\/strong><\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.grammymuseum.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"><strong>.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Luther also has a new compilation,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.billboard.com\/music\/rb-hip-hop\/luther-vandross-covers-beatles-michelle-1235811349\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>Never Too Much: Greatest Hits<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, coming out Dec. 13.
