Sammy Hagar<\/strong> spent his summer performing Van Halen<\/strong> songs on\u00a0his The Best of All Worlds Tour with Van Halen bassist\u00a0Michael Anthony<\/strong>, guitarist\u00a0Joe Satriani<\/strong>, drummer\u00a0Jason Bonham\u00a0<\/strong>and keyboardist\u00a0Rai Thistlethwayte<\/strong>, and it sounds like it won\u2019t be a one-time thing.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hagar tells ABC Audio that he is definitely up for doing the tour again.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBecause if we don’t, then those songs, nobody’s going to play \u2018em. There is no one else to play those songs,\u201d he says. \u201cAnd I’d hate to see that stuff just fade out.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sammy\u00a0says the trek was \u201cone of the most successful tours I\u2019ve ever had,\u201d noting, \u201cobviously those people want to hear those songs. So\u00a0if they want to hear those songs, it ain’t about money, it ain’t about success and fame and fortune, it’s about I got to serve it to ’em\u00a0because I wrote ’em.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to another tour, Sammy says he envisions recording new music with the band, sharing, \u201cThat’s the way I would like to continue it instead of just going until we die, you know, until it’s phased out.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cJoe and I’ve already written a song,\u201d he says. \u201cIt’s really, really good. And the idea is to channel the Van Halen way of writing. Let Joe write some crazy, whacked out guitar music, and I’ll just write lyrics and sing to it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

If and when another Best of All Worlds Tour happens, Sammy says he plans to add some Van Halen songs they didn\u2019t get to play last time around, including the <\/span>5150<\/span><\/em> ballad \u201cLove Walks In.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe couldn’t get it done on this tour,\u201d he says. \u201cIt just didn’t come together. So we’ll figure that one out.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
