{"id":30841,"date":"2024-11-13T18:02:52","date_gmt":"2024-11-13T18:02:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/duran-durans-simon-le-bon-honored-with-an-mbe-at-windsor-castle\/"},"modified":"2024-11-13T18:02:52","modified_gmt":"2024-11-13T18:02:52","slug":"duran-durans-simon-le-bon-honored-with-an-mbe-at-windsor-castle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/duran-durans-simon-le-bon-honored-with-an-mbe-at-windsor-castle\/","title":{"rendered":"Duran Duran\u2019s Simon Le Bon honored with an MBE at Windsor Castle"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-11-13\/Getty_SimonLebon_111324.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Andrew Matthews &#8211; WPA Pool\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Duran Duran\u00a0<\/strong>frontman\u00a0<strong>Simon Le Bon\u00a0<\/strong>was honored Tuesday with a Member of the Order of the British Empire at a ceremony at Windsor Castle. <strong>Prince William<\/strong> was on hand to bestow the honor, which recognized Le Bon for his services to music and charity.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cOn behalf of the band, and their management, we want to congratulate Simon on receiving his MBE this morning at Windsor Castle,\u201d\u00a0read a post on the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/duranduran\/status\/1856420815736012897\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>band&#8217;s\u00a0social media<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">News of Simon\u2019s\u00a0recognition\u00a0was first announced in June, with the musician <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C8NyuIvpvNx\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>calling it<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> \u201can incredible and totally unexpected honour.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;It is fitting that the honour has been awarded not just for my role in music, but also for the work I\u2019ve been fortunate to be involved with outside the band for some of the causes I believe in,\u201d he said at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">He also <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C8R50Msp_D6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>thanked the band\u2019s fans<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">, noting, \u201cI think it\u2019ll help if I feel that I can share the honour with you all. It\u2019s true to say that without you Duran Duran supporters, there would be no service to music; there\u2019d be no service to charity; there\u2019d be no MBE.
