\u00a0Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet\u00a0<\/strong>and the cast of <\/span>A Complete Unknown<\/span><\/em>\u00a0recently talked to\u00a0<\/span>Rolling Stone <\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>about the making of the Bob Dylan<\/strong> film, and Chalamet\u00a0shared some insight into his commitment to\u00a0what he calls a \u201crole of a lifetime.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was something I would go to sleep panicked about, losing a moment of discovery as the character \u2014 no matter how pretentious that sounds \u2014 because I was on my phone or because of any distraction,\u201d he says. \u201cI had three months of my life to play Bob Dylan, after five years of preparing to play him. So while I was in it, that was my eternal focus.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cHe deserved that and then more … God forbid I missed a step because I was being Timmy. I could be Timmy for the rest of my life!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Chalamet was listed as \u201cBob Dylan\u201d on the film\u2019s call sheet, and it fooled co-star Elle Fanning<\/strong>, who got an invite to a preproduction meeting with director James Mangold<\/strong> and \u201cBob,\u201d thinking she was meeting the rock icon.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m probably the first person in life to be let down by having a rehearsal with Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet, right?” she tells <\/span>Rolling Stone<\/span><\/em>. “Like, the first girl in history.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Monica Barbaro<\/strong>, who plays Joan Baez<\/strong>, said Chalamet \u201cwasn\u2019t so full-on\u201d with his method acting, but she noted he was \u201cin his own world” on set, \u201cin a way that I think Bob often was as well.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

And Ed Norton<\/strong>, who plays Pete Seeger<\/strong>, described Chalamet\u2019s commitment as \u201crelentless.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cNo visitors, no friends, no reps, no nothing,” he said. \u201cAnd I agreed totally \u2014 it was like, we cannot have a f****** audience for this. We\u2019ve got to believe to the greatest degree we can. And he was right to be that protective.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A Complete Unknown<\/span><\/em> opens Dec. 25.<\/span><\/p>\n
