U2<\/strong>\u2019s The Edge <\/strong>is once again sharing\u00a0a bit of info\u00a0about\u00a0what the band has been working on in the studio.<\/span><\/p>\n

During an interview with <\/span>BBC Radio 2<\/strong><\/span><\/a>\u2018s Jo Whiley<\/strong>, the guitarist revealed that he and Bono<\/strong> have been in the studio with producer\u00a0Brian Eno<\/strong>, who\u00a0U2 previously worked with on <\/span>The Joshua Tree<\/span><\/em>, <\/span>Achtung Baby<\/span><\/em>, <\/span>All That You Can\u2019t Leave Behind<\/span><\/em> and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cBono and I are working on some crazy kind of sci-fi Irish folk music,\u201d he said of the sessions. \u201cWhich could end up becoming a part of the new U2 album. We\u2019re not sure yet, we\u2019ll see.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cPart of our kind of process is to go so widely away from, off track, and the sort of the process of bringing things back on track is kind of how you get sort of unique sounding music,\u201d he added, noting the music\u00a0may include \u201ca bunch [of] beautiful Irish musicians.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Bono previously described the band\u2019s next album as a rock record, but in a recent interview with <\/span>Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>, The Edge clarified that thought, sharing, \u201cI don\u2019t think it\u2019s going to be a heavy rock album. I think it\u2019s going to be a very different kind of use of the guitar, not a straight-up rock thing.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
