Timoth\u00e9e Chalamet <\/strong>and the cast of the Bob Dylan<\/strong> film <\/span>A Complete Unknown<\/span><\/em> do their own singing in the film, and now fans will be able to enjoy their performance long after they\u2019ve left the movie theater.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Complete Unknown (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack)<\/span><\/em>\u00a0will be released Dec. 25 to coincide with the film\u2019s opening, and the first two singles have just been released: \u201c<\/span>Girl From The North Country<\/strong><\/span><\/a>,”\u00a0sung by Chalamet as Dylan and Monica Barbaro<\/strong> as Joan Baez<\/strong>, and Dylan\u2019s signature tune, \u201c<\/span>Like A Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/span><\/a>,\u201d sung by Chalamet.<\/span><\/p>\n

Both songs are <\/span>available now<\/strong><\/span><\/a> via digital outlets.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cTo me, there was only one way to make this film \u2014 to cast actors that are profoundly talented, ambitious (and brave enough!) to inhabit the whole of the artists they would portray,\u201d the film\u2019s director,\u00a0James Mangold<\/strong>, shares. \u201cAnd in order to inhabit that world those artists had to be able to sing the songs. We were never out to replace the power, beauty and majesty of what exists, but rather, to celebrate it.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

In addition to the Dec. 25 digital release, a limited-edition vinyl version of the soundtrack will\u00a0drop\u00a0in late January. It is <\/span>available for preorder<\/strong><\/span><\/a> how.<\/span><\/p>\n

A Complete Unknown <\/span><\/em>follows a 19-year-old Dylan as he arrives in New York from Minnesota and tracks his rise as a folk singer during the ’60s to the top of the charts, ending with his electric rock ‘n’ roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film also stars\u00a0Edward Norton\u00a0<\/strong>as\u00a0Pete Seeger<\/strong>, Elle Fanning\u00a0<\/strong>as a character named Sylvie Russo,\u00a0Boyd Holbrook\u00a0<\/strong>as\u00a0Johnny Cash\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Nick Offerman\u00a0<\/strong>as\u00a0Alan Lomax<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n
