Bonnie Raitt<\/strong> and the Grateful Dead<\/strong> were celebrated as recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors on Sunday in Washington, D.C., with Sheryl Crow<\/strong>, Dave Matthews<\/strong>, Brandie Carlile<\/strong>\u00a0and more on hand to honor them, <\/span>Billboard<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a> reports.<\/span><\/p>\n

Raitt was in attendance as Julia Louis-Dreyfus<\/strong> shared her thoughts on the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, noting, \u201cYou know it\u2019s Bonnie. It\u2019s all red hair and no bulls***.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Performances in Raitt\u2019s honor included Crow and Carlile on \u201cI Can\u2019t Make You Love Me,\u201d Matthews and Emmy Lou<\/strong> Harris<\/strong> on the John Prine<\/strong>-penned track \u201cAngel From Montgomery,\u201d and Jackson Browne<\/strong>, Crow, James Taylor<\/strong> and Arnold McCuller<\/strong> on \u201cNick of Time.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Grateful Dead\u2019s three surviving members, Mickey Hart<\/strong>, Bill Kreutzmann<\/strong> and Bobby Weir<\/strong>,\u00a0were also in attendance and were feted with a tribute that featured\u00a0Grahame Lesh<\/strong>, son of late Dead bassist\u00a0Phil Lesh<\/strong>,\u00a0Don Was<\/strong> and Sturgill Simpson<\/strong>\u00a0backing Matthews, Maggie Rogers<\/strong>, Leon Bridges<\/strong> and Susan Tedeschi\u00a0<\/strong>on such songs as \u201cFire on the Mountain,\u201d \u201cSugaree\u201d and \u201cNot Fade Away.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Highlights from Sunday’s ceremony will air Dec. 22 on CBS and stream on Paramount+.<\/p>\n
