At first\u00a0Scott said that he was, before suggesting\u00a0Mescal&#8217;s\u00a0schedule may be an issue.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cPaul is actually stacked up, doing the Beatles next,&#8221; he said. &#8220;So I may have to let him go.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">While Ridley didn\u2019t say <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">who<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\"> Mescal would be playing, <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">The Hollywood Reporter<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\"> notes that rumors have suggested he was the frontrunner to play <strong>Paul McCartney<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Mendes\u2019 Beatles project was announced back in February, with the director revealing he planned to make four separate films, one for each member of the group\u00a0\u2014 McCartney, <strong>John Lennon<\/strong>, <strong>Ringo Starr<\/strong> and <strong>George Harrison<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Sony Pictures is the studio behind the movies, and it\u00a0marks the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles have granted a studio the rights to the life stories of band members and their legendary catalog of music.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">No official casting has been announced\u00a0for the films, although Ringo recently let it slip in an <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/media\/videos\/ringo-starr-reflects-on-the-beatles-brotherhood-after-receiving-unexpected-grammy-noms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Entertainment Tonight <\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a><span class=\"s1\">interview that <strong>Barry Keoghan<\/strong> had been cast to play him.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
