{"id":31020,"date":"2024-12-11T21:02:29","date_gmt":"2024-12-11T21:02:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/born-to-fib-new-jersey-politician-posts-fake-spotify-wrapped-list-filled-with-bruce-springsteen-songs\/"},"modified":"2024-12-11T21:02:29","modified_gmt":"2024-12-11T21:02:29","slug":"born-to-fib-new-jersey-politician-posts-fake-spotify-wrapped-list-filled-with-bruce-springsteen-songs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/born-to-fib-new-jersey-politician-posts-fake-spotify-wrapped-list-filled-with-bruce-springsteen-songs\/","title":{"rendered":"Born to Fib: New Jersey politician posts fake Spotify Wrapped list filled with Bruce Springsteen songs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-12-11\/Getty_BruceSpringsteen_121124.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Harold Feng\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">A New Jersey politician has been forced to admit that he fudged his Spotify Wrapped in order to make\u00a0it appear\u00a0that his most-played songs were all by\u00a0New Jersey native <strong>Bruce Springsteen<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Democrat <strong>Josh Gottheimer<\/strong>, who is running for governor of New Jersey, posted his Spotify Wrapped on social platform X on Friday, with his top five songs being\u00a0The Boss&#8217; \u201cThunder Road,\u201d \u201cBecause the Night,\u201d \u201cGlory Days,\u201d \u201cBadlands\u201d and \u201cThe Rising.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cNo surprises here,\u201d he <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Josh4Jersey\/status\/1865144537087201388\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>captioned his post<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">. \u201cFun fact: My first ever concert was at Meadowlands to see The Boss!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">But the politician was soon called out by <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MatthewArco\/status\/1866107207110066386\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>NJ.com<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> reporter <strong>Matt Arco<\/strong>, who noted how dissimilar Gottheimer\u2019s post was to other Spotify Wrapped posts, particularly the fonts and spacing, suggesting the\u00a0list\u00a0was faked.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">After being exposed, Gottheimer owned up to fudging his list, although he insists he&#8217;s a huge Springsteen fan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThis would be my Spotify Wrapped if I didn\u2019t share my account with my 12 and 15-year-old kids,\u201d Gottheimer said in a <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nj.com\/entertainment\/2024\/12\/did-nj-gov-candidate-fake-his-spotify-wrapped-with-springsteen-songs-an-investigation.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>statement to New Jersey Advanced Media<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">. \u201cWhile it\u2019s Springsteen all day for me \u2014 don\u2019t get me wrong, I still love listening to <strong>Taylor Swift<\/strong>!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
