12-12-12: The Concert for Sandy Relief was held at New York\u2019s Madison Square Garden to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Sandy, which struck portions of the Northeastern United States, the Caribbean and the Mid-Atlantic in late October 2012.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The concert featured performances by\u00a0Bruce Springsteen<\/strong>,\u00a0The Who<\/strong>,\u00a0Bon Jovi<\/strong>,\u00a0Eric Clapton<\/strong>,\u00a0Billy Joel<\/strong>,\u00a0The Rolling Stones<\/strong>,\u00a0Roger Waters\u00a0<\/strong>with Pearl Jam<\/strong>‘s\u00a0Eddie Vedder<\/strong>,\u00a0Coldplay\u00a0<\/strong>with\u00a0R.E.M<\/strong>.\u2019s\u00a0Michael Stipe\u00a0<\/strong>and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Paul McCartney\u00a0<\/strong>closed the show, where he was joined by the surviving members of\u00a0Nirvana <\/strong>\u2014\u00a0Dave Grohl<\/strong>,\u00a0Krist Novoselic\u00a0<\/strong>and touring guitarist\u00a0Pat Smear <\/strong>\u2014\u00a0for their first performance together in 18 years.<\/span><\/p>\n

The concert was broadcast live in the U.S. on a variety of networks, and a documentary, DVD and CD of the concert were also released.<\/span><\/p>\n
